The Badminton Association was formed in September 1958 and under 15 tournaments and leagues were introduced the following year. By 1969-70 these events were held for under 19, 16 and 14 age groups and city teams played several matches.

Badminton Update
This year will see school team leagues for both key stage three and four age groups, with Boys, Girls and Mixed leagues, adapted for all ability levels. A finals day will take place for teams at Pinds Forge in February/March 2022.
This season the Association will be organising leagues and tournaments for boys and girls in Y10/11, Y8/9 and Y7 and tournaments for the Y6 and Y5 & below age groups as listed below:
